Performing Arts

Monthly Performing Arts Assemblies enable children to gain experience and confidence in playing, reading, singing or acting in front of an audience.

Drama

Every year there are at least 2 performances: at Christmas, Lower School perform their Christmas play while during the Summer term Upper School have their opportunity to shine!

Music

The school has 3 thriving choirs that give all children the opportunity to sing in a group: audition choir, invitation choir and school choir. There are 2 major choral events:

  • Christmas carol service at our local church, St Bertelins
  • Celebrating Music at the Gatehouse theatre

Peripatetic music lessons

In addition to class lessons in Music, many pupils receive individual tuition from one of our team of excellent peripatetic teachers who cover:

  • Woodwind
  • Percussion
  • Strings
  • Brass
  • Classical guitar
  • Acoustic guitar
  • Recorder
  • Singing
  • Piano

These lessons, which attract an additional charge, take place during the normal school day.

Art

All children have art lessons, the results of which are displayed around the school. There are also whole school events, where everyone gets involved in producing material for various assemblies and performances.
